Lead engineer on three person developer team for samples.com property. Responsible for most engineering tooling, including Docker configuration as well as automated static and dynamic testing for all pull requests. Leveraged AWS services to create microservices for ad targeting and to replace expensive third-party services with in house solutions. Worked with management team to identify company security needs, drafted security policy, and ran security software rollout to employee computers.

Designed and built a secure REST API from the ground up using Symfony microkernel. Wrote SQL queries to aggregate data stored in complex, multi-paradigm, legacy DB. Created PHPUnit suite which performed functional tests for all entities based on model definitions. Assisted with developing company security policies for ISO 27001 certification.

Revised access control policy and implemented access control hierarchy using Symfony security component. Developed API integrations to perform searching and purchasing through third party inventories. Full stack Implementation of new admin features in Symfony and Backbone/Marionette. Consulted on various architectural challenges including caching, content distribution, and complex search/shopping flow requirements.

Maintained and developed improvements for API serving company's flagship product. API was built using libraries from a variety of frameworks including Symfony, Laravel, Silex, and more. Developed and managed release process to improve software lifecycle. Trained intern staff and mentored junior developers. Learned AngularJS and made minor website contributions during internal angular developer shortage

Developed OAuth based service, featuring single sign-on, purchase/subscription processing, and permission management. Created companion Kohana plugin for easy project integration. Also contributed to internal REST api framework, PGSQL wine database, and PHPUnit test suites for various projects.
